Summer Time

Posted on Thursday 28 June 2007

What do you mean June is already over????? This summer has gone by faster than I could have imagined. So much to do and time is lessening.

We’re in prayer right now that I get a teaching job for nextthis next school year. I stepped away from the position I had and I am on the hunt again. We have faith that God will provide the perfect job for me. It is still always tuff waiting to see what happens. There are not many openings butI know God will provide.

Dave’s job on the other hand, is WONDERFUL!! He is really getting to use his gifts and talents and glorify God in doing so. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful church and such a great God.

We’ll keep praying and living out our lives.

School’s Almost Over!

Posted on Wednesday 30 May 2007

Amazing how fast life goes by you when you are not looking.

So I only have 3 days left of teaching this school year. I can’t believe it goes by so fast. I feel like I’m just settling down and teaching, then BAM it’s over. Mind you I am also very very glad it is almost over. I hope to get some much needed rest, in the midst of doing life this summer.

This summer I am the Director of a summer camp program at Fig Garden Racquet Club. So no I’m not taking the sumer off, but it will not be as intense as teaching.

I am also on the job hunt. I put in notice that I will not be at the school I’m teaching at now for next year. I am now trusting God to provide a job where he can use me the most and desires me to teach and use the gifts he has given me.

Dave is working Full-time for The Well and having the time of his life. God has answered our prayers and put him in a job where he is loved and where he is able to use the gifts God has given him. We are so grateful for God’s provisions.

So Much Happening…

Posted on Thursday 12 April 2007

Some days I feel like like keeps going and I’m left behind trying to figure out what has happened….. crazy

Well Dave and I have been house hunting and thought we had found one we really wanted… than realized that maybe it was not right for us… there are so many expenses and things to take into account it can get confusing!

So now we wait on God and try to make sure we are really in tuen with His will so we make the decision He wants, not just what we want.

Time is of the essence though, as usual. The school year is almost over, which means that my job will be over for the summer and I’ll be running the Summer Camp at Fig Garden Raquet Club. This also means that my brother should be moving here in a few months and living with Dave and I !!! VERY EXCITING!!!

Pray that we trust God in all things

Wow, spring break finally !!!! Dave and I finally got to spend soem good time together today. It is nice that as a teacher I get some time off. This week will be well spent.

Dave and I were able to go house hunting for quite some time today. Then we got to make and eat dinner together… amazing! Tomorrow I get to go and spend some relaxing girl time in Santa Cruz with two of my girlfriends. Thursday I get to go see one of my best friends (Tara) who just got engaged!! Sunday I’ll celebrate Easter with my sweet husband and probably crash a few friends family’s dinner celebrations. Then Monday we hope to go see some more homes!!!

Dave will be working hard like usual and getting some quiet time while I’m away with the girls. Life keeps him going and he’s been working very hard.

If things go well and we get a house we will let you know and maybe you can help us make it ours!!!

New Year, Growing Older

Posted on Monday 8 January 2007

Well it’s been a while since I’ve blogged for all of you…

Life has been good in the Sather home. Dave and I are both working like crazy, time is flying by and all is well.

This week will be very very super exciting! I (Lizz) will turn 25 on Thursday! and on Saturday will have quick the big party! A mock 80’s prom to be exact. So we are quite excited and are looking foward to dancing and spending silly time with friends and family.

For Dave, he is praying about where God desires him to be. He is looking into some classes at the City college and doing all he can to wait upon and listen to God’s calling. Your prayers would be greatly welcomed.

We hope you are doing well and that God keeps on blessing you.

Give Thanks

Posted on Monday 20 November 2006

We hope you enjoy this time of year when we are called to stop and think on the many things that God has so graciously given us.

We thank God for all of you. He has blessed us with friends and family that are more loving and uplifting than we could ask for.

We are very excited for this week of soem time off and time with family. We’ll be going to the LA area to spend a few days with Dave’s sister, brother in-law and parents. We also are going to have the ultimate date! We are going to Disneyland! One of our favorite places to go together!! We’re so excited because it will be all decorated for Christmas and they make it snow at night time and we get to snuggle in the cold weather. What a blessing…

May God bless you greatly also!

The Rain Has Come

Posted on Saturday 11 November 2006

Isn’t it amazing to see what God has created. He has perfectly planned all things so that things can grow and live on daily.

The cool holidays and rainy times have finally arrived. The earth will be cooled and we get to wear our big jackets and warm scarfs. I am always amazed at the changing of seasons. Sometimes they slowly fade into one another and other times they abruptly switch as if the change places in the middle of the night without anyone seeing or knowing.

This time of year bring lots of joy to Dave and I. We get to plan times with our families. We get to stay home and cuddle to keep warm. We’ll make warm drinks, hot meals and watch movies until we’ve seen all we can take.

I hope you and blessed greatly and take the opportunity to enjoy the great blessing of the cold weather, the rain and the holidays.

How time flies

Posted on Sunday 8 October 2006

Isn’t it amazing how fast life goes by you without you even noticing?

It is already the second week of October. I’m on page 150 in most of my teachers’ editions already. We’re having our first fieldtrip this Wednesday. Dave has already turned 31. I’m on my way to 25 soon. Christmas is getting closer, and from what I hear the school year flies by even faster after the first of the year.

I’m am always amazed at God’s ability to take the time that we have here and make it so full. In the past few months God has grown me in my abilities to teach. I have been witness to children being born. I have mourned the loss of my grandmother. I have gained new friends. I’ve begun new hobbies. I’ve watch my church grow in great numbers. Dave has built, created and designed new things. Dave’s begun to read a new book. To look at it in days and nights, it does not seem like there would be enough time for all God has planned. I’m so grateful that he his the time keeper, the planner, the provider. For it I had to do it alone… most would not be done in such greatness.

Going Good…

Posted on Saturday 16 September 2006

Well life has been on a somewhat steady flow lately. Of course we always have those bumps and bruises, but they are all apart of life.

Work has been going good for me lately. My students are at the point where there BIG personalities are all comming out and they are not being so reserved. So that always calls for the “mean” teacher to come out unfortunately, but all is well. It is amazing to see how different each of these children are. They are all on opposite sides of the spectrum from each other. I don’t think I have any two that are even similar. It makes it challenging because I have to keep my energry high with all their personalities and adapt my teaching for each of their learning styles. Although, it has been a blast to get to know them and love on them.

Dave’s job has been beating him down a lot, but God has him where he wants him for now and we just keep praying that when God has something new for Dave, He will show us loud and clear and we will follow His lead.

Hope God is taking the wheel in your life….

Pray Request

Posted on Sunday 27 August 2006

Hey everyone!!! I just wated to throw out some prayer request for ou to keep in your thoughts and prayers.

First… My little sister was in a bad car accident a couple of days ago. She got hit on the passenger side of her car from a car that apparently didn’t slow down. Her car is totalled, which means she is going to have a rough time moving back to Sacramento for school. She also had her head go through the driver’s side window. She is in a low state right now. She needs prayer for healing and joy to be put back in her life.

Second… My school is great and my students are wonderful, but I found out through testing and observation that they are not where they should be in Math at all! None of them passed the math test I gave them, which was all on second grade concepts, and we are in third grade. Also, with such a small group it is hard to keep them focused and mindful of what I am teaching. I am trying to keep their attention and make things fun, but it is hard. Please pray that God will give me the strength and ability to teach them well, and get them prepared for learning.

Thank you !!!  God Bless !!!
